Like to knit or crochet? Come join this friendly group that’s been making yarn art for the Modesto Library since March 2021. Work on your own piece–or contribute to our current project–while socializing, trading hints, and making friends. Beginners to experts are welcome. No registration required.

Want to learn to knit or crochet? Most months we have instructors available to get you started either knitting or crocheting. If you’re a novice, please complete this registration form so we’ll know to expect you. Bring supplies if you have them, but we’ll have materials on hand as well.

Can my child attend? This program was designed for adults, but we understand younger people enjoy yarn arts, too. Those age 12+ may attend, but we ask that an adult accompany them and share the learning experience.

When and where? This volunteer-run program meets in the library’s Maker Space on the first Monday of each month. Upcoming 2024 meetings are from 5:30-7:45 pm on

• December 2 (if the library hasn’t closed for renovation)

Special yarn sale. We need to reduce our yarn stash so we don’t have to store it all during the library renovation. We’ll offer our remaining yarn for sale this evening. Bring project ideas with you and hunt for appropriate yarn. $1 for each 4 ounces of yarn. Please bring cash.

Where will we meet during the library renovation? We’re looking for alternative meeting places. When we find one, we’ll post the information here, on our web page and on Instagram, as well as on the library’s event calendar.
