Have you always wanted to learn to knit or crochet? Register to join Yarning with Friends for a beginner’s class. New and returning students are welcome.
In our April class we’ll provide instruction on basic crochet stitches. We’ll also offer a one-on-one stitch clinic for new knitters. For those interested, we’ll continue working on our Library Yarn Garden project–a mural of knitted and crocheted flowers. If you have even a little bit of knitting or crochet knowledge, you can make something for the mural. We hope to have this ready to display for National Library Week in April.
Pictured below is a yarn bomb of Buffalo Bayou Park outside Houston in 2015. More photos available here. Our yarn garden, which will hang near the entrance to the library, will be similar.
Details and registration form below under tab EVENT DETAILS.
This class will take place in the MakerSpace on the main floor of the Modesto Library.
- 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm
There is:
- No cost
- No commitment to continue attending classes (but we hope you’ll want to!)
- No commitment to work on any Yarning with Friends projects
You’ll need a few supplies. If possible, bring knitting needles (medium size, straight or circular), a crochet hook (medium size), scissors, ruler or tape measure and a small amount of worsted weight yarn. We always have some extra yarn if you need it.
The class is free, but we ask that you register, using the form below.
