Calling all 8- to 12-year-old would-be authors! If you are older than 12, help us spread the word on this June 1 event to youngsters and their parents.
Youngsters and ‘tweens are invited to hear Northern California author Linda Joy Singleton speak on Saturday, June 1, 11:15 a.m. at the Modesto Library Auditorium.
Ms. Singleton, the author of numerous children’s chapter books, began her writing journey at the age of eight. Her visit to Modesto will provide youngsters with ideas on how to improve their writing, remember their childhood, and what to write about. Hint: her animals give her lots of ideas for books. Ms. Singleton’s books include The Curious Cat Spy Club series, A Cat Is Better, and Lucy Loves Goosey. She also has a picture book coming out this year, Crane and Crane.
The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Modesto Library and funded by a grant from the Omega Nu Sorority Phi Gamma Chapter of Modesto.
